The awkward questions, answered
The questions a careful buyer actually has — rights, revisions, AI use, and what happens if a draft misses. Answered directly, not around.
01 — Scope
Every package page lists its includes[] and scope limits[] in full before you buy — what’s covered and what explicitly isn’t. If your project needs something outside a package’s stated scope, that’s what the custom-scope enquiry is for.
Yes. Add each package to your cart separately, or send a custom-scope brief through Contact and we’ll scope it as one engagement with one timeline.
Yes — the Mark stage exists precisely to close that gap. We do audience and competitor research and ask direct questions before drafting, rather than assuming familiarity we don’t have.
02 — Process
Five stages, run on every project: Mark (brief and research), Mount (structure and outline), Stoop (the draft), Foot (the edit), Mantle (delivery and hand-off). Full detail on /how-it-works/.
Most needed at the start (the Mark-stage conversation) and at the review round(s). In between, the work happens inside the studio — you’re not needed for daily check-ins.
Say so at the Mount-stage checkpoint. Structural changes are far cheaper to make in an outline than in a finished draft, which is exactly why that checkpoint exists.
03 — Pricing
Because a scoped, fixed-price package is something you can actually evaluate against a budget without a sales call first. Genuinely bespoke work still gets scoped individually — that’s what “Start a project” is for.
No, all listed prices are ex. VAT. VAT is calculated at checkout based on your country and, for EU businesses, a valid VAT ID (which triggers reverse charge).
Checkout on this site currently runs a demo payment flow while a live payment processor is finalised — no card details are ever transmitted or stored through it. Contact us directly to confirm a real engagement and receive an invoice.
04 — Rights & ownership
You do, in full, on final payment. This is stated in our Terms of Service without qualification.
Yes — once IP has transferred, it’s entirely yours to edit, extend, or repurpose.
No. Delivered copy is yours; we don’t resell, republish, or reuse client copy elsewhere.
05 — Bilingual
Because literal translation preserves meaning, not persuasive effect. Idiom, humour, and what actually moves a French reader to act rarely survive a word-for-word pass — which is the whole reason Bilingual EN⇄FR Transcreation exists as its own service.
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons clients come to the Bilingual service specifically. We rewrite from the brief, not from the existing translation.
Default is vouvoiement — the standard professional register for B2B/B2C copy in France. If your brand genuinely uses tutoiement (some consumer/youth brands do), tell us in the Mark stage and we’ll match it.
06 — Payment
At checkout, in full, for one-off packages. For retainers, the first month is charged at checkout and it renews monthly afterward until cancelled.
Drafts are human-written by a copywriter against your brief, then edited in the Foot stage — that includes fact-checking and a rhythm read-aloud pass. We don’t publish machine-generated first drafts as finished client copy. If a tool assists research or a first structural pass, a person still drafts, edits, and is accountable for every sentence that reaches you.
